About the Role :

The Behavioral Health Technician plays a critical role in supporting the mental health and well-being of patients within a behavioral health care setting. This position involves direct patient care, assisting with clinical assessments, and implementing individualized treatment plans under the supervision of licensed clinicians. The technician is responsible for monitoring patient behavior, managing crisis situations effectively, and ensuring a safe therapeutic environment. Accurate clinical documentation and maintaining up-to-date patient records are essential to support continuity of care and discharge planning. Ultimately, the role contributes to improving patient outcomes by providing compassionate, skilled support to individuals experiencing serious emotional disturbances (SED) and other mental health challenges.

Minimum Qualifications :

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in a related field preferred.
• Certification or training in behavioral health or mental health support (e.g., Certified Behavioral Health Technician).
• Experience in clinical documentation and maintaining patient records in a healthcare setting.
• Demonstrated ability to manage crisis situations and perform crisis intervention effectively.
• Basic knowledge of mental health disorders, including Serious Emotional Disturbances (SED).
