Shipping And Receiving Clerk

The Shipping and Receiving Clerk position involves managing incoming and outgoing goods, ensuring accurate documentation, and maintaining organized inventory records. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and physical stamina for tasks like lifting heavy items and standing for long periods.

Responsibilities :

• Accept and unload incoming shipments, inspect goods for damage or discrepancies, and verify contents against purchase orders.
• Store goods in designated areas, update inventory records, perform cycle counts, and maintain an organized warehouse.
• Pick and pack orders based on pick tickets, prepare outgoing shipments, assemble crates, and ensure all items are accurately accounted for.
• Prepare all necessary paperwork, including invoices, bills of lading, and shipping labels, and maintain accurate records of all shipments.
• Arrange for transportation of outgoing goods, coordinate with carriers, and track shipment status to ensure timely delivery.
• Adhere to safety procedures, maintain a safe and clean work environment, and stay informed about shipping regulations.
• Safely operate equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks to move and load materials.

Work Environment :

2nd shift from 2pm-10pm Monday-Friday, with potential for overtime. The facility is not climate controlled, but large doors provide a nice draft. It's a steel environment, which can be loud and dirty, but uniforms are provided after 3 weeks. The building is well-lit with windows, and steel toes, jeans, and a T-shirt or long sleeves are required attire. Dress appropriately for the weather as it is not climate-controlled.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rockford, IL.

Pay and Benefits :

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00 / hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
