Job descriptionConducts preventive maintenance in guest room cabin units and mechanical rooms . This includes but is not limited to filter changes, bulb replacements, hinge lubrication, wall repairs, furniture repairs, mineral removal, grout and caulk replacement, and fixture checks. Support General Clean projects throughout entire campus : This includes but is not limited to polishing fixtures, paint touch-ups, wood touch ups, floor care, and seasonal deep cleans. Support maintenance projects : staging materials, cleanup, assisting technicians and specialists. Support seasonal preventative maintenance of lodge, wellness, and seminar spaces. Maintain shop cleanliness and organization , inventory parts / consumables, and perform light tool maintenance. Order needed parts and supplies and if item is urgent, pick up at Moore Lumber and submit mileage to Executive VP of Campus. Track arrival and departure times of vendors in the vendor log. Learn basic systems knowledge (HVAC, plumbing shutoffs, electrical panels, pool systems) through shadowing. Contribute to outdoors grounds support on a need only basis : trail tidying, seasonal snow / ice clearing, watering outdoor plantings. Respond politely to guest / staff requests when encountered, directing issues to the right team. Help ensure public-facing areas always look cared for (not just repaired). Serve as an ambassador of the team’s values : service, craftsmanship, and joy in work. Log tasks, report observations, and engage in continuous learning. Respond to any equipment alarms, troubleshoot, and repair. Shadow senior techs to gain basic understanding of core systems : Electrical panels & circuits Plumbing shutoffs & fixtures Pool / spa systems Vehicle / grounds equipment basics Participate in “mini-projects” designed to build skill (changing a faucet, patching drywall, wiring an outlet under supervision). Keep a personal “skills log” tracking tasks learned and completed. Learn to read simple schematics and manuals. Participate in preventative maintenance checklists (logging readings, filter changes). Ability to engage with people in a way that creates a sense of community and loyalty. Experience Minimum one year of experience in maintenance roles with mechanical knowledge, or equivalent education and experience. Ability to troubleshooting issues using reasoning and resourcefulness. Experience in disciplines of engineering such as plumbing, heating, air conditioning, carpentry, etc. Ability to weekends Ability to utilize Microsoft Outlook and Office applications such as, but not limited to, Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Solid organizational, time-management and prioritization skills. Grit, perseverance, and a drive to be the best and expect the best. Ability to read and comprehend instructions, both written and oral. Ability to effectively present information in one on one or small group situations. Enthusiasm to learn technical trades and facilities operations. Strong attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship. Ability to investigate and analyze data drawing conclusions on that data and make decisions and offer recommendations for improvement of the property and its revenues and expenses. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to think independently and use discretion to make decisions impacting the business operations and finances. Ability to work at high elevations with climbing and walking as a regular activity. Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 10 hours in length. Must be able to exert well-paced ability to maneuver between functions occurring simultaneously. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis. Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs. occasionally. Must be able to walk, stand, sit, bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill tasks. Must have finger dexterity to be able to operate office equipment

Unlike traditional hospitality environments, The Lone Rock Foundation Retreat is not open 365 days a year. We only host groups up to 60 people and we only flip rooms 2-3 times of week due to our minimum two-night stay. POSITION SUMMARY
The Junior Maintenance Technician is an entry-level role. This position combines routine preventative maintenance and facilities general clean programs. The position will also have opportunities to learn the fundamentals of building systems, tools, and preventive maintenance. This role plays a critical part in elevating guest experience while growing trade skills under the mentorship of more experienced technicians.
