Job Title : Phlebotomist II - Gainesville

Job Description

The Phlebotomist II position involves assisting in performing various assigned duties, troubleshooting, training, and making workflow recommendations. The role requires expertise in specimen collection and handling, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with patients.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge, and record maintenance data.
• Decontaminate and update patient information as necessary.
• Collect and store specimens following established procedures.
• Clearly and courteously explain the venipuncture process and other specimen collections to patients.
• Demonstrate techniques using straight and butterfly needles.
• Understand and execute physicians' orders accurately.
• Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes and label specimens correctly.
• Package specimens for transport and store them according to required temperatures.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and DEP regulations.
• Attend annual department training sessions.
• Respond to telephone inquiries and read laboratory results.

Work Environment

The position is based in Gainesville, Georgia, with the primary location at an OBGYN office and occasional floating to a PSC within the same building. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, with the possibility of working at the PSC if the main office closes early on Fridays. The role may include FMLA coverage and has the potential to become permanent at another site.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Gainesville, GA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00 / hr.
