We are looking to fill the role of Press Technical Specialist / Engineer for our ceramic tile manufacturing facility. The Press Technical Specialist (large format presses) is responsible for managing the activities of the press department to keep building and equipment in proper state of repair, to reduce mechanical downtime and keep product flow and production lines running at maximum efficiency and quality. Responsible for the development and implementation of maintenance systems associated with High Performing Manufacturing Organizations (Preventative / Predictive Maintenance, TPM, etc.) on ceramic presses. You will seek out ways to maximize efficiencies by eliminating the waste of valuable resources that directly impact our overall operating efficiency. You will be instrumental to the manufacturing of our ceramic tile product brands, to meet the needs of our customers and consumers.
Responsibilities include :
- Perform routine checks of equipment status to meet Safety, Quality, and Production goals.
- Review and analyze daily production metrics.
- Assign and drive corrective actions for failures to the production metric goals by directing / working with mechanics and operators to perform maintenance activities.
- Lead continuous improvements and corrective action to reach performance targets.
- Attend daily production meetings to provide updates on metrics and corrective actions.
- When necessary, interacts with Italy based operations for Press related matters.
- Ensure proper scheduling of resources to maximize amount of work completed while minimizing plant downtime.
- Assist Press Manager and management in scheduling of project elements to ensure minimal interruption to plant operations.
- Develop and / or maintains Key Performance Indicators for tracking and reporting the performance of the maintenance function (supplier performance, equipment reliability, overall equipment effectiveness, etc.).
- Assist with training operators on technical aspects of the press including dies and insuring quality is achieved.
- Assist with major PM activities, changeovers and / or directing associates in the completion of these tasks
- Performs necessary computer work for equipment related functions.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited college or university (preferred) or 5-7+ years of related experience in a ceramic tile manufacturing environment preferred.Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in a position of leadership or press technical supervisor role required.Possess thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and CMMS systems (SAP preferred).Possess advanced technical skills in the mechanical and / or electrical fields (e.g., PLCs, instrumentation, mechanical systems, etc.).Experience working with SACMI presses is required.Must be able to lead resource planning and management efforts in a large manufacturing environment.Thorough knowledge of maintenance systems, work order process, preventive / predictive maintenance, etc.Ability to use exposure monitoring equipment, interpret and communicate results.Capable of communicating and expressing ideas clearly and concisely, in both written and oral formats.Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.Strong interpersonal, technical and presentation skills required.May be required to work long hours (and evenings) and weekends (as needed).Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment.Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.Benefits
