Job Description

The Clamp Truck Operator ensures all units are properly banded with visible load tags, and verifies there are no broken or missing straps. This role involves staging units in the warehouse, and loading / unloading trailers safely and efficiently. Responsibilities include performing visual quality inspections on items, ensuring accurate unit and truck counts on trailers / carriers, and verifying all paperwork.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual quality inspections on all items loaded and unloaded.
• Stage units in the warehouse and load / unload trailers safely.
• Verify banding and visible load tags on units, ensuring no broken or missing straps.
• Ensure units and truck counts are accurate on trailers / carriers and that all paperwork is correct.
• Follow all safety and company policies, and report any issues, accidents, or incidents immediately.
• Complete monthly online safety training as assigned.
• Attend work regularly and predictably, demonstrating exemplary attendance.
• Work flexible or extended hours as needed.
• Read the Wet End run schedule and lay down correct rolls for upcoming paper grades.
• Handle rolls safely according to company rules and training.
• Assist operators in peeling and prepping damaged rolls and ensure they are not returned to roll stock.
• Prep butt rolls for return to the roll room.
• Clean and reorganize the warehouse to maintain a safe and orderly environment.
• Unload trucks or railcars, following all paperwork and processes as required.
