Job Duties :

Detailed Orthodontic Assistant Duties

• Assist the orthodontist with dental procedures, maintain excellent patient service, integrity, flow.
• Removing / replacing wires & bands
• Preparing patients for banding / de-banding
• Ability to take, develop and “mount” accurate, high quality radiographs / intra-oral photos / orthodontic photos.
• Taking dental molds / impressions / scans of patients’ teeth
• Clear Aligners (3M Clarity / Invisalign) scanning / bond attachments
• Clean, sterilize and prepare the equipment and operatory, prior to and after a patient’s appointment.
• Review patient chart, document appropriate patient information and health history during the exam and treatment
• Ensures all consent forms are completed prior to procedure
• Managing appropriate documentation for patient records- photos, notes, follow- up conversations, patient education.
• Track the incoming and outgoing lab cases, monitor and order supplies.
• Educate the patients on proper oral hygiene and address their questions and / or concern.
• Assist the business administrative team in scheduling patients
• Computer proficiency and the ability to learn new programs
• Communicate and work alongside dental staff to provide the patient with high level of care
