This role is a key position within our dedicated Sports Flooring division , which specializes in the expert design and installation of high-performance surfaces, including hardwood, pad & pour, rubber, resilient, and turf systems for athletic and recreational facilities.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead our Sports Flooring projects, acting as the single point of contact for installations. This role holds full responsibility for all aspects of a project, from inception and pre-construction to final close-out and invoicing. The successful candidate will work independently to manage the unique demands of sports-related projects, ensuring work is professional, accurate, and timely, while coordinating with all team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Ownership : Act as the single point of contact and hold responsibility for all aspects of sports flooring projects, from pre-construction to final punch-list.
- Stakeholder Management : Manage General Contractor (GC) relationships, attend construction meetings, and coordinate with the GC to maintain the project schedule.
- Specialized Field Operations : Oversee all field operations, including manpower and installation quality, to guarantee work is completed per plans, project specifications, and manufacturer standards for sports flooring systems.
- Financial Management : Ensure the appropriate profitability of each project, managing budgets, change orders, and subcontractor pay schedules and contracts.
- Safety & Compliance : Recognize and mitigate all safety concerns, lead toolbox talks, and ensure all operations meet Bonitz and industry safety standards.
- Pre-Construction : Work with the project team to vet sports flooring projects, review scope, and assist in contract review.
- Documentation : Prepare and issue installer work orders and manage the completion of punch-lists and warranty files.
Ideal Qualifications
Associate's degree or 2-5 years of experience in general contracting, construction management, or construction administration.Experience in sports flooring, athletic surfaces, or hardwood / resilient flooring installation is strongly preferred.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Strong time management, organizational, and critical thinking skills.Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel).Must be able to pass a background, drug, and motor vehicle check.Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.Compensation & Benefits
This is a full-time, salaried position.As an employee-owned company, you will be eligible to participate in our Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP).A monthly car allowance and a company gas card will be provided for required travel to project sites.
