Heavy Civil Superintendent | Albany, NY Area
We’re partnering with a well-established general contractor in the Capital Region to find an experienced Heavy Civil Superintendent to lead site operations across a range of civil and infrastructure projects.
This is a great opportunity for a hands-on leader with strong technical knowledge and the ability to drive quality, safety, and performance on-site. Projects will include excavation, concrete, utilities, piping, and process equipment installations, with a strong focus on water and wastewater treatment facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise field crews, subcontractors, and tradespeople to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.
- Interpret and implement construction drawings, specifications, and submittals to develop detailed work plans.
- Coordinate materials, equipment, and subcontractor schedules to ensure efficient site operations.
- Prepare weekly timesheets and track labor hours against project budgets.
- Represent the company professionally when interacting with clients, engineers, and vendors.
Qualifications
5–7 years of civil construction experience, including excavation, utilities, and concrete work.Working knowledge of OSHA requirements and the ability to perform site-specific hazard analyses.Willingness to travel to Watervliet, NY.Preferred Experience
Background in municipal infrastructure projects such as water or wastewater treatment plants and pump stations.Ability to operate heavy equipment and assist in field operations as needed (excavation, pipefitting, carpentry, ironwork, etc.).Experience building and developing crews — including training and retaining field staff.Ability to plan short-term schedules and manpower forecasts (2-week look-ahead planning).If you’re a results-driven Superintendent with a strong civil background looking to join a respected contractor with long-term regional work, we’d like to hear from you.
