Responsibilities Laurel Heights Hospital is a -bed facility located in Atlanta Ga. We are dedicated to providing youth with compassionate mental health treatment that encourages self-responsibility and personal growth. We provide psychiatric treatment to children and adolescents that present with a broad range of psychiatric, behavioral disorders and autism. A clinically skilled multidisciplinary team works to partner with the youth and family to accomplish their goals in a supportive and therapeutic environment.

The Music Therapist's goals include:
- Helping patients manage pain and stressful situations, encouraging self-expression, and promoting communication, motor development, and socialization.
- Plan, organize, direct, or assess clinical and evidenced-based music therapy interventions to positively influence individuals' physical, psychological, cognitive, or behavioral status.
- Design or provide music therapy experiences to address client needs, such as using music for self-care, adjusting to life changes, improving cognitive functioning, raising self-esteem, communicating, or controlling impulses.
- Design music therapy experiences, using various musical elements to meet client's goals or objectives.
- Sing or play musical instruments, such as keyboard, guitar, or percussion instruments.

Qualifications Education: Degree in Music Therapy\ or related field.
Licensure/Certification: Licensed in Georgia or eligible to obtain license within 6 months of employment. Successful completion of New Hire Orientation (CPR certification, age-specific training, and the current patient aggression management training). Employee must have a valid Georgia Driver's License
