Must-Have :

2 years ICU experience

Description :

Licensed for 457 beds.

Level 3 Trauma facility.

Stroke Center of Excellence.

Bariatric Center of Excellence.

Chest Pain Center.

Unit has 40 beds with a census of approximately 40.

Patient types include ventilated patients, stroke and thrombectomy patients, opti-flow, Bipaps, overdose patients, endotool, CRRT, GI bleeds, and some trauma patients.

Patient ratios are RN : 1 : 1-3.

General ICU skillset required includes critical care gtts experience (insulin, vasopressors, sedation), management of invasive lines (ART / CVP), cardiac rhythm interpretation, chest tubes, ventilator management, blood products, and wound care / dressing changes.

Support roles include CNAs assisting with turning, feeding, ADLs, blood sugars, lab draws, and mobility.

There is no HUC / Receptionist position.

Charge nurse is available 24 / 7.

Phlebotomy responsibilities lie with the RN.

Respiratory Therapy is available 24 / 7.

Hospitalist and Intensivist are present 24 / 7.

Telemetry monitoring includes hardwire monitors and travel tele boxes.

Electronic Medical Record system used is EPIC.

IV Pump : Alaris.

Medication dispensing system : Omnicell.

Monitors used are Phillips.

Unit-specific equipment includes Arctic Sun, Hemosphere, Belmont rapid transfuser, and life flow.

Floating may occur within region and scope of practice.

No weekend rotation is required; holiday expectations indicate travelers will work 75% of holidays.

Can request up to 6 days off, excluding holidays, with a commitment to adding time to the end of the contract if unable to meet contracted hours.

Scrub color is navy.

Unit culture emphasizes teamwork across shifts.
