Gilead is seeking a Director, Marketing Strategy and Planning to champion the launch of our next groundbreaking HIV therapya novel, once-weekly, oral combination of lenacapavir and islatravir. In this role, you will report directly to the Senior Director, HIV Treatment Marketing ISL-LEN and play a central part in shaping and executing innovative marketing strategies to bring this transformative new treatment for people living with HIV. As the Director, Marketing Strategy & Planning, you will :
- Develop a bold vision for the launch of a novel oral therapy in HIV Treatment and gain buy-in from cross-functional leaders
- Effectively collaborate with internal partners to drive launch alignment and operational excellence

Role Overview & Responsibilities :
Support launch and strategic initiatives for ISL-LEN, a novel new HIV treatmentLeads launch planning cross functional teams incl global in the development of strategic and tactical plans supporting a new launch in HIV Treatment. This will include establishing governance standards, leading and coordinating cross-functional planning team, and ensuring launch planning timelines are developed, continuously assessed, and on time.Closely collaborates with the Global ISL / LEN Commercial team and our Alliance partner to ensure US strategy is aligned to Global Commercial Strategy and joint commercialization approach.Drive Strategic Brand Communications (coordinating between our US HIV Treatment team, GCSO, Public Affairs and our Alliance partner)Collaborate with brand leadership and cross functional team members to generate brand analytics and therapeutic insight generation such as market size and dynamics, product clinical profile, product differentiation, competitive environment, market share trends, and lifecycle plans to inform strategic brand directionEnsures compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and regulatory guidelines governing commercial and scientific interactions with healthcare professionals, payers, advocacy and other business partners.Competencies and Expertise Required :
A minimum of 5 years of brand development and marketingExperience working on products within a portfolio a plusMust possess excellent strategic thinking skills with ability to formulate, develop and execute strategyAbility to translate market research findings into actionable insights and tactical plansStrong capacity to collaborate with and lead cross-functional teams. Must work cooperatively with commercial management, medical affairs, compliance, market research and othersAbility to understand and communicate clinical data and high-level scienceDemonstrated excellence in project management and effectively managing multiple projects / prioritiesAbility to effectively lead agencies and other external partners on strategic and tactical projectsFirm command of financial management with an understanding of expense budget planning and trackingExcellent communication skills (written and oral) and experience presenting to Senior Management is requiredExperience in pharmaceutical strategy and planning and / or experience in pharmaceutical consultingQualifications and Preferred Experience :
Required : Bachelor's degree with at least 12 years of marketing experience, or Master's degree or PhD with at least 10 years of marketing experiencePreferred : An MBA with 10+ years of pharma / biotech marketing experienceExperience in product launch and portfolio managementKnowledge of pharmaceutical regulatory requirements impacting marketing messaging and materialsPrior experience with advertising, digital, or communications agencies is advantageousThe salary range for this position is : $226,185.00 - $292,710.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package.
