Position Overview
The Safety & Health Specialist is an individual contributor role that is responsible for driving,
educating, and executing the Safety & Health program to ensure a safe, healthy, and accident-free work
environment that meets OSHA and best practice standards. This position is located in Denver, CO and
reports to the Sr. Safety Manager.
Essential Job Functions
- Design and implement Safety & Health related education, communication, and training to include
 
new employee orientation, safety committee meetings, safety alerts
Analyze and present Safety and Health related data, driving reports using software systems suchas Origami, iAuditor and PowerBI
Act as a subject matter expert for federal, state, and Marvin enterprise safety & health compliance,including maintenance of applicable files, documents, and records
Successfully engage in daily Safety & Health activities at a manufacturing site to comply with allapplicable regulations and company processes and procedures to promote a best-in-class safety
culture predicated on injury prevention
Have a working knowledge and ability to handle complex and multi-jurisdictional safety guidanceand compliance standards from NFPA, NEC, ANSI, NIOSH, and OSHA.
Champion all Safety & Health activities within the facility by working closely with employees andmanagement to recognize, generate and implement ideas to continually improve safety
Maintain local Safety & Health policies and procedures within a facility, which will adhere to no lessthan Enterprise-level material
Maintain employee records documenting certifications or licenses obtained, completion of training,and other employee records as it relates to Safety & Health
Drive and maintain facility readiness for internal and external auditsLead self-assessment Safety & Health audits, including documenting findings, producing reports,and sharing with applicable leadership
Test and service safety equipment and systemsAdvocate for and lead the use of the control hierarchy, such as implementation of engineering andadministrative controls to abate or minimize safety hazards
Manage local Safety & Health teams (e.g., Safety Committee, Ergonomics Team, etc.)Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced EHS team membersKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Advanced knowledge of OSHA standardsAbility to effectively collaborate with Operations and be able to balance safety with business needsExcellent communication and computer skills (Microsoft Office)Strong verbal presentation and facilitation skillsAptitude for technologyAbility to work effectively with management as well as with associates from the floorWillingness to grow within the Safety & Health space, including seeking additional training andcertifications
Willingness to work occasionally outside of core hoursAbility to frequently stand and walk around facilityDemonstrated success in collaborating with Operations Employees to resolve issues utilizingeffective solution driven techniques.
Education / Experience
Associates degree preferred or equivalent experience2+ years' experience in a safety related roleManufacturing experience preferredCurrently hold one or more of the following certifications :o BCSP Advanced Safety Certificate
o OSHA 30 Hour, and / or
o Occupational Hygiene and Safety Technician Certification (OHST)
Ability to gain certification to be considered an authorized person for specific OSHA service,maintenance, and inspection requirements
Willingness to expand certifications and knowledge as site program needs dictatSalary Description
$73,689 - $92,111
