Role Overview

Role available in Sunnyvale, CA or McLean, VA. VA comp range is $161,063 - $186,745

We are seeking a SDET IV who will be pivotal in ensuring the quality, robustness, and performance of ID.me products. The primary focus of the SDET is on test enablement, quality assurance, and developer productivity.

This role is centered around providing developers with the tools, frameworks, and practices needed for producing quality software in a timely and predictable manner.

The ability to collaborate effectively with developers and cross-functional teams is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and promote tools and frameworks that enable developers to validate the scalability, security, and functionality of web applications, services, and APIs.
  • Drive the adoption of efficient quality assurance processes and identify gaps in test tooling.
  • Collaborate with developers, product managers, and stakeholders to ensure that effective testing methodologies and tools are seamlessly integrated into the development process.
  • Evaluate, introduce, and optimize innovative testing methods and best practices.
  • Champion test-driven development practices across the development teams to prevent and detect errors, and ensure immediate feedback.
  • Tackle intricate technical challenges associated with infrastructure, testing, and quality assurance.
  • Coach engineers in the domains of testing, development practices, tools, and methodologies.
  • Collaborate with developers to ensure all features have comprehensive automated test coverage.
  • Proactively work with development teams to identify potential production issues and help devise strategies to mitigate risks.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in software testing, quality assurance, and test automation using Java, Ruby, JavaScript, TypeScript, Go, Python, Rust, and C++.
  • Proficiency in querying techniques and optimizations on relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
  • Experience with A B testing strategies and understanding their results.
  • Experience building and deploying test systems in a containerized, cloud-based, infrastructure-as-code ecosystem in any cloud platform.
  • Hands-on experience with GCP, particularly with Docker, Kubernetes, or Nomad.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Deep commitment to ensuring high-quality product releases.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and requirements.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; a team player with a proactive, self-managing work ethic.
  • Passion for software quality assurance, continuous improvement, and scalable solutions.
  • Knowledge of load and performance testing using jmeter, locust, or similar.
  • Experience with development and automated testing of accessible software.
  • BS in computer science or equivalent experience.
  • Experience working with Ruby on Rails and Rspec a plus.
  • Must be located in the continental U.S. and work core EST or CST hours.

The annual base salary listed below for this role is based on experience, skills, education, relevant training and geographic location.

Company bonus, incentive for sales roles, equity, and benefits are available depending on the role.

The above represents the anticipated total rewards package for this job requisition. Final offers may vary from the amount listed based on qualifications, professional experiences, skills, education, relevant training, geographic location, and other job related factors.

Pay Range $193,275 $224,094 USD
