🚀 Reports to : VP of AI & Data Science
We’re building large-scale, adaptive AI systems that understand users, anticipate their needs, and deliver deeply personalized experiences across multiple product surfaces.
Our mission is to make intelligent technology truly useful by blending machine learning, cognitive modeling, and modern product design to help people interact with information more effectively.
As a Senior Staff Applied AI Engineer, you’ll architect and deploy cutting‑edge personalization, ranking, and generative systems that impact millions of users globally. You’ll shape the technical direction of a fast‑growing, pre‑IPO AI company and mentor the next generation of applied ML talent.
What you’ll do
- Define and own the roadmap for applied AI across personalization, ranking, search, and generative systems
- Design large-scale ML architectures that power discovery, recommendations, and adaptive experiences
- Lead development of LLM‑driven features including retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG), fine‑tuning (SFT, DPO, RLHF), and latency‑optimized inference pipelines
- Build unified user representations by integrating behavioral, contextual, and conversational data
- Establish evaluation frameworks across ranking and generative models such as NDCG, BLEU, AUC, human evals, and A / B testing
- Drive model reliability through strong CI / CD, safety checks, and continuous monitoring
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with design, data, and infrastructure to operationalize cutting‑edge research
- Mentor senior engineers and set high standards for experimentation rigor, architecture, and reproducibility
