SUMMARY :

With supervision from the Project Engineer, the Senior Mechanical Designer creates mechanical drawings using Revit and coordinates with the design team using BIM. This role works as a member of the project design team to coordinate the design development, production, and delivery of engineering documents. Responsibilities include load calculations, system design, equipment selection, vendor coordination, and CA support. Some assignments require independent action and decision making. This position reports to the Mechanical Engineering Team Leader.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & KNOWLEDGE :

• High school diploma required. Bachelor of Science in Engineering .
• 5+ years of mechanical drafting and / or design experience from concept to client delivery in HVAC Design, Building Mechanical Systems, and Central Utility Plants.
• Experience working on healthcare, government, education, and / or technology project design.
• Healthcare experience .
• Basic knowledge of integrated design and architecturally significant buildings.
• Proficiency in Revit and BIM required.
• Knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
• Advanced knowledge of building codes.
• Advanced knowledge of mechanical systems and equipment.
• Advanced knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of plans, sections diagrams and equipment schedules, and drawings.
