Overview
The Fixed Equipment Mechanical Reliability Engineer at INEOS Acetyls serves as the plant subject matter expert concerning fixed equipment (tanks, vessels, piping, etc.) and supports manufacturing assets with related inspections, repairs, and improvement projects.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities
- Meet all SHE objectives and comply with governmental laws and policies for a manufacturing site.
- Develop / implement and monitor a comprehensive inspection & integrity program compliant with governmental regulations and internal company policies.
- Deliver against front-end Asset Integrity KPIs and identify interventions for measurable improvements.
- Adhere to the site SHE management system, participate in reporting and incident investigations, share lessons learned, track corrective actions, and train personnel in support of the Incident Management System.
- Maintain systems and procedures for mechanical integrity of assets and protective systems.
- Ensure adherence to API, ASME, ANSI, and industry practices; stay informed on industry standards and emerging trends.
- Audit compliance with PSM & MI standards and take corrective actions as necessary; maintain asset condition per INEOS Asset Care guidelines.
- Serve as Fixed Equipment Technical Expert; coordinate with manufacturing assets to develop long-term reliability plans aligned with site strategy.
- Maintain site procedures and standards for fixed equipment; provide high-level technical guidance and design assurance for fixed equipment projects.
- Support development of maintenance / repair procedures for fixed equipment and revise as required.
- Monitor fixed equipment performance, identify improvement opportunities, and incorporate into long-term reliability plans.
- Provide technical support for routine fixed equipment maintenance and assist Asset Care and Inspection teams with root cause analysis and TAR (Turnaround) activities as needed.
- Lead or assist with reliability plan implementation and provide emergency / after-hours troubleshooting support as needed.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities related to fixed equipment and provide input on critical inspection plans and TAR scope.
- Contribute to mechanical design reviews during Front-End Loading of fixed equipment capital projects to ensure compliance with site standards.
- Provide input on TAR scope and inspections planning for fixed equipment.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in mechanical or chemical engineering, or equivalent.3+ years of experience as a support engineer or reliability engineer in a manufacturing plant or equivalent.Thorough knowledge of environmental, safety, and health policies, procedures, guidelines, and regulations; working knowledge of API, ASME, ASTM, ASNT, PIP, OSHA, EPA, and related standards.Experience applying preventive and predictive maintenance technologies to improve fixed equipment reliability; working knowledge of SAP plant maintenance module.Skills & Competencies
