Ballers is a premier social sports facility designed to bring the community together through a variety of athletic activities. Featuring pickleball, padel, food and beverage offering from our on-site Food Truck. Ballers will become the hub of these dynamic sports in the city of Boston.
Position Overview :
The Operations Manager is a dynamic and experienced operator who will oversee all aspects of food and beverage, private events, housekeeping, player services, and retail operations. This individual will be responsible for ensuring exceptional guest experience, driving revenue growth, managing costs, and leading a high-performing team. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills, a passion for hospitality, and a keen eye for detail, and a passion for promoting physical activity and healthy living.
Here’s what your day-to-day will look like :
Venue & Daily Operations Management
- Oversee court scheduling for all departments.
- Maintain cleanliness, upkeep, and equipment functionality across all playing areas, restrooms, food & beverage areas, and common spaces.
- Monitor inventory and supplies (e.g., balls, paddles, retail items, F&B stock) and coordinate reordering as needed.
- Ensure a welcoming, high-energy atmosphere that aligns with Ballers’ brand and culture.
- Address guest inquiries, complaints, and special requests with professionalism and urgency.
- Assist and develop and execute programming, tournaments, and special events to enhance engagement and increase repeat visits.
- Foster a collaborative, customer-first culture, ensuring staff are motivated and well-supported.
- Oversee staff scheduling, payroll approvals, and labor cost management to optimize efficiency.
- Conduct regular team meetings, performance evaluations, and training sessions.
- Oversee POS systems, membership platforms, and court booking software to ensure seamless customer transactions.
- Work with IT and vendors to troubleshoot technical issues related to security cameras, streaming services, and digital signage.
- Ensure guest and member data security is upheld through best practices.
Skills & Qualifications
3 years of sports venue management and food and beverage operationsExcellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, based on event schedules.Knowledge of pickleball and padelProven leadership and team management skillsExcellent organizational and communication skillsAbility to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekendsCPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)Excellent communication and organizational skillsProficiency in using computer software programsWhat We Offer
