Role Overview :
The Sourcing & Procurement Manager at Veranova is a strategic leadership role responsible for navigating complex supply chains, ensuring regulatory compliance, optimizing cost, and securing supply continuity for our development and manufacturing operations. This role demands someone who thrives under ambiguity, leads cross-functional teams, drives strategic sourcing, and manages high‑stakes vendor relationships in a regulated CDMO environment.
Core Responsibilities :
- Lead effective business partnership for New England sites relative to NPI, product changes, and manufacturing plants, optimizing security of supply, commercial agility, sustainable value, and profitability.
- Direct spending of up to $25M in direct and indirect materials and up to $25M in Capex in accordance with the Procurement operating model.
- Lead sourcing strategies for raw materials, components, equipment, and CDMO / CMO services where multiple regulatory, quality, cost, timing, or technical constraints apply.
- Work on high-complexity contracts and partnerships (e.g., process development, scale-up, technology transfer) with downstream impact on operations, regulatory filings, and client commitments.
- Develop alternate sourcing strategies and dual / multiple supplier arrangements to mitigate supply risk, especially for critical inputs.
- Qualify, audit, and manage suppliers to meet cGMP / GMP / regulatory standards, set and track performance metrics, and conduct regular business reviews (QBRs).
- Build strategic supplier partnerships; negotiate favorable terms and manage long-term relationships that balance cost, quality, innovation, and flexibility.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a procurement / sourcing team; influence across R&D, Quality, Regulatory, Operations, Legal, and Finance to ensure alignment on sourcing plans and standards.
- Establish, improve, and enforce procurement policies, systems, and tools (e.g., contract lifecycle, risk assessments, spend analysis, forecasting) to drive cost savings and process improvements.
- Act as an escalation point for sourcing issues—quality failures, delivery delays, regulatory non-compliance—and lead cross-functional resolution efforts.
Qualifications : Required
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, Chemistry, or related field; advanced degree preferred.7–10+ years of procurement / sourcing experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, CDMO, or CMO environments, handling complex technical and regulated categories.Proven track record managing complex contracts, vendor relationships, negotiations, and supplier risk in regulated manufacturing.Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor teams and influence across functions (Quality, Regulatory, R&D, Operations, Legal, Finance).Demonstrated expertise in risk management, cost optimization, value engineering, and continuous improvement in procurement.Skilled in using procurement technology and digital tools (eSourcing, CLM / contract management systems, ERP demand planning).Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills; comfortable making decisions under uncertainty.Resilient and proactive, able to manage multiple complex projects with tight deadlines while fostering a high-performance culture.Salary Range : $125,000 - $145,000 annual base salary
