Extrusion Team Lead
Administers, organizes, and conducts cross-training for value stream associates in Extrusion. Exhibits a high level of expertise in the general functionality of the equipment and processes as it relates to standard work, transferring this knowledge as part of cross-training. Provides feedback and coaching on quality issues related to first-time through, while providing continuous training on operator errors. Provides leadership that includes coaching, conflict resolution, identifying process constraints, appropriate problem-solving, and working on the line as needed. This position has limited decision-making authority, as problems can generally be evaluated according to defined procedures or precedents. Responsibilities also include enabling the company core values, behaviors and mindset through an high level of emotional intelligence.
Train and provide feedback to associates on all aspects of production roles, including : new hires, processes, cross-training, safety practices and procedures, quality requirements and control plans, standard work, etc.
Conduct audits to ensure standards are maintained. This includes, but is not limited to : safety, finished goods quality, monitoring production schedule, controlling scrap, and running standard work audits.
Facilitate the front-line management process in accordance with AMS (lean) principles. Lead continuous improvement activities by effectively involving associates.
Audit line set up through collaborative effort with technicians, including identification of associates' re-training
Follows and administers all safety procedures and protective equipment in accordance with standards. Be proactive on safety hazards and make recommendations when appropriate.
Manage the movement of associates based on business needs, following training protocols to complete certification of trained skills.
Assist in the development and lead the continuous improvement of standard work and quality plans. Administer and train associates on these expectations.
Provide leadership in communication, conflict resolution, process constraints, and problem-solving.
Deploy, execute, and train on Lean Principles.
Work with team leaders from other shifts and areas to backfill for absences.
Follow the supervisor's direction on decisions related to operations and personnel.
