About Sankofa Montessori
Sankofa Montessori embarked on its educational journey as a public charter school, receiving its charter from the Georgia State Charter School Commission in 2021. We officially opened our doors in July 2023, starting our adventure with Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grades. As we chart our course, we added a 3rd grade in our second year and will be adding 4th grade during the upcoming school year, school year 25-26. Our mission is to empower children with the knowledge, skills, and agency needed to lead purposeful lives. Join our team and help us continue to chart our course.

Services
The Montessori Academic Coach will support Lead Guides (not students) by creating, building, and sustaining systems and structures that strengthen Montessori pedagogy and align with Georgia standards.
Services will include :
Montessori Coaching & Support :
- Create systems for coaching and mentoring teachers in Primary, Lower Elementary, and Upper Elementary.
- Conduct regular classroom observations and provide actionable feedback
Professional Development :
Build structures for teacher learning.Design and facilitate monthly professional development sessions on Montessori pedagogy and standards alignment.Instructional Leadership :
Develop strategies with teachers for analyzing student data, identifying instructional gaps, and improving outcomes.Model best practices and ensure prepared Montessori environments.Operational Support :
Support teacher evaluations, growth plans, and ongoing professional reflection.Community Engagement :
Strengthen staff capacity to explain Montessori pedagogy to families and align with the school’s visionDeliverables include : baseline observations (October), coaching cycles (November–March), final observations (May), plus weekly / biweekly check-ins with Lead and Co-Guides every month.
QUALIFICATIONS
For this position, we’re looking for candidates that possess a combination of the following skills :
Bachelor's degree (required)(Required) Montessori certification from a MACTE-accredited program, with demonstrated experience in Primary (ages 3-6) and Lower Elementary (ages 6-9) classrooms; experience in Upper Elementary is highly desirable.Instructional coaching experience is highly desirableSubstantial effective teaching experience in Montessori classroomsRecord of producing dramatic, demonstrable student achievement gainsAbility to lead, influence, and hold others accountable to high standards of academic excellenceStrong learning orientation and desire to work in a fast-paced, dynamic work environmentExperience in a public or charter Montessori school environmentFamiliarity with Georgia state standards and instructional expectationsProven track record of integrating Montessori methods with state and district standardsCan complete physical demands of the role (including standing and walking for extended periods of time and lifting heavy objects up to 40Ibs)Unwavering commitment to Sankofa Montessori’s missionSuccessful background check results requiredBenefits
COMPENSATION
In full consideration of all services performed by the Contractor as described in this agreement, Sankofa Montessori shall pay the Contractor a flat rate between $1,500 - $2,000 per week (depending on years of experience).The Contractor is considered a non-employee for tax, unemployment insurance, disability insurance, and worker’s compensation insurance purposes, as well as for any Family and Medical Leave or other benefits. Contractor is not eligible for overtime pay.Should Contractor need to travel to fulfill responsibilities, Sankofa Montessori will not be responsible for travel costs.Sankofa prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.
