Join our dynamic team as a Senior Payroll Tax Analyst, where you'll play a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll tax filings across the U.S. and Canada. This hybrid position offers flexibility, challenge, and the opportunity to collaborate with a high-performing payroll and finance team.
Key Responsibilities
- Tax Compliance & Reporting
Ensure accurate calculation, reporting, and payment of federal, state, and local payroll taxes
Stay current on tax regulations and legislative changesPrepare payroll tax reports, including 941, W-3, and T-4 reconciliationsRespond to internal and external inquiries, audits, and filing requirement changesConduct quarterly audits of employee tax setupsTax Rate ManagementMaintain tax rates in payroll systems and with third-party providers
Manage Canada workers' compensation rates across provincesMaintain online access credentials for tax agenciesTax Research & FilingsInvestigate and resolve tax discrepancies
Respond to agency notices and assist employees with tax inquiriesFile and remit Canada workers' compensation paymentsPrepare and file U.S. taxes not supported by third-party providersPayroll ProcessingProcess bi-weekly payroll for Canadian employees
Identify and resolve tax issues during payroll runsAudit and adjust taxable wages as neededGenerate payroll reports on a regular basisCollaborate with the team to resolve payroll concernsQualifications
RequiredHigh school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree preferred)
5+ years of experience in high-volume, multi-state payroll processingProficiency in Workday payroll systemsStrong knowledge of payroll tax reconciliations (941, W-3, etc.)Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas)Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skillsStrong communication and emotional intelligenceAbility to manage multiple tasks and adapt quicklyHigh level of discretion and confidentialityPreferredExperience with Canadian payroll
