Overview

Staff Attorney, Immigration Clinic at USC CERPP (Center for Enrollment Research, Policy and Practice). This is a full-time, 1-year fixed-term position with the possibility of renewal contingent on funding. All candidates must submit a cover letter and resume. The staff attorney will work for the USC Gould Immigration Clinic and handle removal-defense and USCIS cases. The role supports the La Linterna pediatric medical-legal clinic jointly sponsored by the Immigration Clinic, Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA), and AltaMed.

Responsibilities

• Handle Immigration Clinic removal defense and USCIS cases.
• Provide support for the La Linterna pediatric medical-legal clinic, including consultations, brief services, referrals, and direct representation before USCIS and immigration court.
• Represent clients before USCIS, immigration courts, the Board of Immigration Appeals, U.S. District Courts, and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
• Maintain an individual docket of cases and collaborate with other staff attorneys, co-directors, and law students in the Immigration Clinic.
• Work on matters such as removal defense, asylum, Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS) applications, and U- visa or other relevant immigration matters.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual base salary range is $73,000.00 – $75,960.00. USC considers factors such as responsibilities, experience, education, skills, equity, and applicable laws when extending an offer. Benefits information can be found at USC
