Position Summary

The Civil Sitework Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for civil construction projects, including site development, earthwork, utilities, concrete flatwork, and paving. This role supports the company’s bidding and preconstruction efforts by analyzing project documents, performing quantity takeoffs, and collaborating with internal teams, subcontractors, and suppliers. The Estimator plays a critical role in securing profitable work and ensuring successful project execution through detailed and well-documented estimates.

General Duties and Responsibilities

• Analyze civil engineering drawings, specifications, and related documents to prepare detailed and accurate takeoffs and cost estimates.
• Develop comprehensive bid packages and proposals in coordination with the preconstruction and project management teams.
• Utilize estimating software such as Bid2Win, Trimble Business Center, Bluebeam Revu, and Microsoft Excel.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to solicit and evaluate pricing for labor, materials, and equipment.
• Review and incorporate geotechnical reports, site logistics, and phasing plans into the estimating process.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options.
• Maintain historical cost data and assist with budget development for future projects.
• Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and project walk-throughs as needed.
• Support project handoff to operations teams with clear documentation upon award.
• Stay up to date with market conditions, material pricing, and industry trends.

The Civil Sitework Estimator works under the direction of the Vice President of Operations and President . The Estimator will collaborate closely with Project Managers and Superintendents to ensure accurate, timely, and competitive project bids that align with company standards and goals.
