Position Specifications :

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
  • Master's degree from an accredited Nurse Anesthetist Program required
  • National Board of Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA) certification required
  • Candidates can be either a Certified Nurse Anesthetist or board eligible for certification as a CRNA
  • Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience : Pediatric healthcare; previous CRNA experience
  • Wisconsin RN license
  • AHA BCLS and / or ACLS required

Education

In addition to our Physician resident and fellow training programs, we offer a Master of Science in Anesthesia program one of just 12 in the nation.

We launched our program in 2016, recognizing a growing need for skilled anesthetists in Wisconsin and throughout the country.

The program is fully accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs.

Research

Research in the Department is internationally recognized for its contributions to calcium channel biophysics, vascular reactivity, myocardial protection, and experimental neurosciences, with a focus on traumatic brain injury and the physiology and pharmacology of pain modulation.

Our research is supported by funding from the National Institutes of Health, National Science Foundation, Department of Defense, Advancing a Healthier Wisconsin, the VA, American Heart Association and the Foundation for Anesthesia Education and Research, among others.
