INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST II

State Fund's IT Server Operations department is looking for a Virtualization System Architect to provide enterprise support.
Under general direction by the IT Manager I, you will be responsible for :
- VMWare and VDI infrastructure system design, security, modification, upgrade and implementation.
- Providing tier 2 and 3 support of the VMWare virtual environment by diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving issues.
- Monitoring systems to identify problems, trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Taking proactive measures to maintain optimal performance and uptime on all systems.
- Providing leadership to the team and other IT units on projects
- Participating in problem management and root cause analysis
- Providing 24x7 support to troubleshoot the more complex problems and issues.
- Providing timely response to notifications and alert for servers and related systems
- Working on-call as needed
- Recommends and implements new technologies.
- Manages medium to large IT projects
Desired Qualifications
- VMWare experience, including vCenter and vROPS tools
- VMWare Horizon VDI experience
- Experience with on-prem and Azure Active Directory
- Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems
- Proficient in general computer architecture (CPU, memory, storage etc)
- Demonstrated ability to be adaptable
- Ability to be strategic and think critically
- Excellent communication skills
