Site Safety & Health Officer (SSHO)
Overview : We are hiring an experienced SSHO to manage site safety on federal construction projects for USACE and NAVFAC. The SSHO ensures full compliance with the Accident Prevention Plan and EM 385-1-1 standards, driving proactive jobsite safety.
Key Responsibilities :
- Implement and enforce the Accident Prevention Plan (APP)
- Conduct daily site inspections and lead toolbox talks
- Develop and maintain AHAs and safety documentation
- Coordinate closely with Superintendent and QCM on safety matters
- Conduct incident investigations and maintain OSHA 300 logs
- Maintain SDS library and safety records onsite
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent safety / construction experience10+ years of safety experience in construction (federal preferred)SSHO experience on USACE / NAVFAC projects requiredOSHA 30 and relevant safety certifications (e.g., confined space, fall protection)24+ hours / year of formal safety training in the last 4 yearsWe are an equal opportunity employer and comply with all non-discrimination obligations, including the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA) and Section 503 of the Rehabilitation Act.
