The mission of the Louisiana Office of State Fire Marshal is to uphold the law and provide for the protection of life and property from the hazards of fire or explosion, to ensure the safety of our citizens in the constructed environment, to provide equal access to disabled individuals, and to promote the efficient use of energy in commercial buildings. This position is located in the Professional Development division of the State Fire Marshal's Office. Incumbent will be over SFM and FETA fleet operations and government-owned property, ensuring laws and policies are being followed. Minimum Qualifications
Eight years of experience in administrative services; OR Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus five years of experience in administrative services; OR A bachelor's degree plus five years of experience in administrative services; OR An advanced degree plus four years of experience in administrative services. EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION : Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job duties and other information : This position will direct, manage, supervise, and coordinate the management and operations of the State Fire Marshal (SFM) fleet. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to : overseeing fleet operations involving acquisition, repair, maintenance, and fleet surplus to ensure efficient utilization of vehicles and compliance with applicable state laws and regulations. Recommending policy and procedures. Developing short and long-term planning goals for the fleet division. Managing and monitoring budget preparation and expenditures regarding vehicle purchasing, maintenance, etc. Serving as subject matter expert on the Fleet, preparing special and recurring reports and proposals for special projects and other Fleet maintenance plans. Coordinating and maintaining shared resources and equipment with governmental partners. Implementing measures to prevent the loss, misuse, or misallocation of government property and resources. Responding to urgent matters, after hours or emergencies related to government property.
Position-specific details : Appointment type : Probational, Promotional, or Job Appointment. Career progression : This position does not participate in a Career Progression Group. Work schedule : Work hours are 8 : 00 AM to 4 : 30 PM, Monday Friday. Location : This vacancy is located in East Baton Rouge Parish. Compensation : The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience. The bi-weekly rate for this position is as follows : Administrative Program Director 3 (AS620) - $2,318.40.
