Job description

Business Development Professional

X Technologies is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Professional to drive growth initiatives, identify new business opportunities, and expand our footprint in the defense and commercial sectors. This individual will play a key role in shaping the company's growth strategy, building relationships with key stakeholders, and leading proposal efforts to secure new contracts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute business development strategies to achieve company growth objectives.
  • Identify, pursue, and capture new business opportunities within the DoD and commercial markets.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with government agencies, defense contractors, and industry partners.
  • Lead the identification and qualification of Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Information (RFIs), and other government procurement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop competitive proposals, white papers, and marketing materials.
  • Track market trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs to align business development efforts with industry demands.
  • Participate in industry events, conferences, and networking activities to enhance brand visibility and business connections.
  • Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of opportunities, providing regular reports to executive leadership.
  • Support contract negotiations and ensure smooth transition from business development to program execution.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or capture management within the defense, aerospace, or technology sectors.
  • Proven track record of successfully winning government contracts and developing strategic partnerships.
  • Strong understanding of the DoD procurement process, including FAR / DFARS regulations.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to develop and present compelling business cases and proposals.
  • Experience working with federal contracting vehicles (e.g., GSA, IDIQs, SBIR / STTR programs).
  • Proficiency in CRM software and business development tools.
  • Ability to travel as needed for business development activities.
