Essential Duties
- Design, develop, and optimize chemical processes to improve efficiency, safety, and product quality.
- Conduct process simulations, heat and material balance calculations, and scale-up activities from lab / pilot to production.
- Prepare and review P&IDs, process flow diagrams, and other technical documentation.
- Monitor and analyze process performance, identifying opportunities for cost reduction, yield improvement, and waste minimization.
- Troubleshoot production issues and provide technical support to operations and maintenance teams.
- Collaborate with R&D, operations, and project teams to implement new technologies and process improvements.
- Develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) aligned with industry best practices.
- Provide training and mentorship to plant personnel on process engineering fundamentals and safe work practices.
- Support capital projects by defining process requirements, evaluating vendor proposals, and overseeing commissioning / start-up activities.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and other applicable standards.
- Track and report process KPIs, recommending strategies for continuous improvement.
Requirements
Education : Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related fieldExperience : 3-5 years of relevant experience in process or production engineeringTravel : Approximately 10%Other : Must complete pre-employment background, medical, and drug screening; valid driver’s license requiredWork Environment
