Role : To protect the credit union's financial and reputational assets by providing expert-level support and technical administration of the Collateral Protection Insurance (CPI) program. This includes ensuring accuracy and compliance in data handling, enhancing CPI-related workflows, and maintaining precise communication with members, insurance carriers, and CPI vendors. The CPI Specialist operates with a high degree of autonomy and attention to detail while upholding MAX Credit Union's values and commitment to exceptional service.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities :

  • Accurately reviews, verifies, and reconciles CPI billing, refund, and notification reports.
  • Maintains thorough documentation of all CPI-related transactions and correspondence.
  • Performs detailed file maintenance and adjustments to member records associated with CPI coverage, billing, and refunds.
  • Accurately posts CPI premiums, claim settlements, warranty and GAP refunds using approved financial systems.
  • Ensures all financial entries align with policy guidelines and audit requirements.
  • Responds to escalated CPI inquiries from members and resolves issues not addressed by CPI vendor representatives.
  • Coordinates with insurance carriers, members, and vendors to validate coverage and resolve policy discrepancies.
  • Ensures CPI data accuracy for credit bureau reporting.
  • Processes incoming mail from insurance carriers including policy renewals, cancellations, and changes.
  • Identifies and escalates any potential legal risks or compliance concerns to management promptly.
  • Assists in updating and maintaining CPI-related policies, procedures, and workflows.
  • Provides internal guidance to team members and departments regarding CPI policies and process changes.
  • Participates in CPI vendor relationship management, offering feedback on service performance and systems.
  • Maintains a member first mindset.
  • Upholds core values and builds team member and customer relationships.
  • Completes all training as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
