Description : SUMMARY :
The Accounting Lead is a highly analytical and independent contributor tasked with driving the integrity and efficiency of the company’s financial controls and reporting infrastructure. This pivotal role requires a self-starter who excels at proactive problem resolution and optimizing key accounting workflows.
Key responsibilities include end-to-end General Ledger execution, rigorous variance analysis, and technical ownership of complex accounting areas such as ASC 842 Lease Management and Prepaid Automation. The Lead is responsible for ensuring data accuracy for financial statements compliant with GAAP, providing critical support for annual audits and quarterly reviews, and implementing standardized schedules to elevate team efficiency and control. This position offers a direct opportunity to impact process improvement and cross-functional alignment across AP, Payroll, and FP&A. We seek a candidate with demonstrated expertise in delivering audit-ready financial data and enhancing accounting department processes.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Execute the General Ledger (GL) close for key accounts, ensuring all entries and reconciliations are accurate, timely, and adhere to GAAP.
 - Work and think independently to execute tasks, utilizing strong analytical skills to efficiently identify, analyze, and resolve variances and accounting discrepancies.
 - Maintain and reconcile all accrual liability, prepaid, goodwill, payroll related accounts monthly, ensuring proper documentation and support.
 - Technical Accounting Ownership : Maintain and improve the official ASC 842 Lease Schedule and track / amortize capital leases and fixed assets, including depreciation.
 - Process Automation : Lead initiatives to improve automation for prepaid amortization and lease accounting to drive efficiency.
 - Compliance & Reporting : Maintain quarterly sales tax filing, tracking, and reconciliation and ensure all financial data meets external audit requirements.
 - Audit Support : Provide lead support for annual financial audits and quarterly reviews, preparing all complex schedules and addressing auditor inquiries efficiently.
 - Standardization : Design and implement standardized schedule templates (e.g., balance sheet reconciliations, audit support) for use by the accounting team.
 - Cross-Functional Alignment : Communicate with A / P, payroll, and financial planning teams to improve data flow, correct errors, and ensure a smoother month-end closing workflow.
 - Monitor and confirm financial condition by completing all assigned monthly balance sheet reconciliations and analyzing fluctuations.
 - Ensure adherence to internal controls, policies, and procedures, including monitoring the employee credit card program.

QUALIFICATION GUIDELINES :
REQUIRED : Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent, plus 6 or more years of progressive accounting experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Experience with NetSuite. Advanced Excel skills required.
DESIRABLE : Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting. Knowledge of data warehouse, power query, Paylocity reporting and Healthcare management system.
