Job Description
In this role you will
Tracks quantities of parts to be packaged
Monitors on hand balances of shop floor locations for parts and supplies and notifies ATL of any shortages of required packaging supplies
Performs indirect functions as needed to ensure all necessary material is available when required
Verifies accuracy of work and completes appropriate paperwork and computer transactions to ensure inventory accuracy and quality workmanship
Uses personal computer or other data acquisition devices (i.e. bar-code) to check or record data as required
Understand and follow established work instruction to assure adherence to ISO standards and MMAS requirements
Performs packaging and crating functions associated with shipment of complex defense products
Receives instructions and work orders from Planning and / or Packaging Engineering
Refers to work guides or other work procedures to obtain appropriate packaging and shipment requirements
Uses appropriate work guides to perform various packaging operations (i.e. cleaning, wrapping, packing and labeling), calculates weights and cubes as required. Notifies ATL or QA of damaged material or equipment
Scans and prints labels or packing list and apply to proper crate, box or container
Perform routine daily maintenance checks on material handling equipment
Perform complex rigging and material moves using bridge cranes, jib cranes and fork lifts
Handle materials to and from work area, using jib or overhead cranes or other material handling equipment as required
Perform banding, wrapping tagging, etc. for the safe and efficient movement, storage and preservation of material
Perform palletizing and shrink-wrapping
Perform loading of trucks
Lead and coordinates all complex movement of work in process material for shipping
Safely operate various types of material handling equipment
Implements and maintain 6 S Principles and housekeeping standards in his / her work area.
Understand and follow established safety rules and practices.
Keep work area safe and clean.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
High School Diploma or equivalent and 3 years relevant work experience
Proficient forklift operator
Experience in warehousing or manufacturing environment
Strong attention to detail and organization skills
Basic math skills
Willing to work in a team environment
Ability to physically lift objects up to 40 lbs. independently
Availability to work overtime as needed
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Experience with Oracle based MRP system
Ability to use Zebra handheld scan gun equipment
Pay Information
This position is covered under a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), which will determine your wages.
