American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Level III Neonatal ICU position requiring ND or compact licensure, NRP certification, and proficiency with advanced neonatal care.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a Level III NICU within an acute care hospital environmentUnit has 40 beds and cares for critically ill and intermediate neonatesNurse-to-patient ratios are 1 : 1 to 1 : 2 for critical / intermediate infants and 3 : 1 for growing / feeding infantsUtilizes Draeger conventional and high frequency ventilators (jet and oscillator), nitric oxide, cool cap, MedFusion and Smart pumps, Spacelab monitors, MAK, Accudose, and Epic EMR12-hour rotating day / night shifts with every other weekend requiredNo floating to other units is requiredProvide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill and intermediate neonates including assessments, planning, interventions, and evaluationsAssist with neonatal procedures such as intubation, spinal taps, and central line placementsWork collaboratively with a multidisciplinary NICU teamTraining includes Epic charting orientation (OneChart) and two days partnered with a buddy nurse to assess appropriate infant assignmentsChild-friendly scrubs with specific colored pants are requiredAll clinicians must badge in and out at the facilityReturning employees must have a 6-month gap since last employment at the health system\n \n Requirements\n
Active ND or compact RN license requiredMinimum 2 years of NICU experience, including experience in a Level III NICUCurrent American Heart Association BLS certification requiredCurrent NRP certification requiredAbility to perform advanced neonatal procedures such as intubation assistance, spinal taps, PICC line placement, and IV startsExperience with Epic EMR strongly preferredSkills in neonatal assessment, IV and umbilical lines, CPAP, nasal cannula, OG / NG feedings, and G-tubes requiredCannot consider candidates residing within a 60-mile radius of the facility; local rate applies for those living 60-80 miles away\n Benefits\n
