Behavioral Health Specialist - OMP, Port Angeles, 1.0 FTE, Day Shift
The Behavioral Health Specialist is a core member of the Clinical Team, which includes the patient’s medical provider and psychiatric consultant, as well as the larger care team.
The Behavioral Health Specialist is responsible for supporting and coordinating the mental and physical healthcare, including substance use issues, of patients on an assigned patient caseload with the patient’s medical provider, and when appropriate, other mental health and substance use treatment providers.
QUALIFICATIONS : EDUCATION
EDUCATION
Master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work from an educational program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education required,
Master’s or doctoral degree which qualifies for licensure or certification as a marriage and family therapist, or mental health counselor required.
- Chemical dependency training preferred.
- Basic knowledge of psychopharmacology for common behavioral health disorders preferred.
EXPERIENCE
- Experience with screening for common mental health and substance abuse disorders required.
- Experience with assessment and treatment planning for common mental health and substance use disorders required.
- Experience with evidence-based counseling techniques required.
LICENSURE / CREDENTIALS
One of the following certifications required within three years of hire :
oWashington State Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW).
oWashington State Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.
oWashington State Licensed Mental Health Counselor.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.

Maximum of 480 hours allowed in bank. Accrued time may be used to cover illnesses beginning the 4th scheduled consecutive day of work missed due to illness.
