As a Security Engineer at Capital One, you’ll help create, maintain, and improve applications and solutions at massive scale, helping to not only improve the security of applications for millions of people around the world, but also greatly reducing risk for Capital One.

As a member of the Application Security team, you’ll be part of the process that contributes to securing, validating and sustaining Capital One products, which millions of customers across the world use on a daily basis.

You will be responsible for analyzing the security of applications and services, discovering and addressing security issues, building security automation and quickly reacting to new threat scenarios.

You will have the opportunity to learn from, and be mentored by, those who are building and securing our cutting-edge applications.

An Application Security Engineer at Capital One is expected to be strong in multiple domains and provide significant contributions to the Capital One Security team.

Security engineers are expected to develop solutions and apply appropriate decision making to complex business problems, all while adhering to security engineering best practices.

In addition, an Application Security Engineer must foster constructive dialogue and seek resolution when confronted with discordant views.

Engineers in this role are expected to participate fully in the planning of the team's work and constantly seek opportunities for process improvements.

A successful candidate will need a combination of troubleshooting, technical, and communication skills, as well as the ability to handle a mix of tasks which may include project and software development work.

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting.

Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.New York City (Hybrid On-Site) : $165,100 - $188,500 for Prin Assoc, Cyber TechnicalCandidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and / or long term incentives (LTI).
