This is a 13-week staffing position with a focus on providing high-quality, patient-centered care. The ideal candidate will be an empathetic and skilled nurse with experience in a critical care setting. Responsibilities Patient Care : Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for a diverse group of patients, serving as a primary or accountable nurse as assigned. Patient Advocacy : Protect and promote the health and abilities of patients, preventing illness and injury and alleviating suffering through comprehensive care. Education : Educate patients and their families on health promotion and disease management using available resources. Medication Administration : Safely administer medications with a working knowledge of pharmacology and in accordance with United Health Services policies. Quality & Safety : Comply with all nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and hospital policies, ensuring patient safety and effective resource utilization. Professional Development : Actively participate in the Nursing Shared Governance Model and engage in professional development, including continuing education and peer review. Research & Learning : Integrate nursing research and current evidence into practice and provide a supportive learning environment for new employees and students. Qualifications Required Experience : A minimum of six months to three years of nursing experience. Five or more years of direct experience is also acceptable. Critical care / ICU level experience is required , including experience with vents and vasoactive gtts and sedative gtts. Education : Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Licensure & Certifications : Current NYS RN License. BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross). Unit-specific requirements as listed in the Compliance Matrix. Skills : Strong collaboration, communication (verbal & written), and critical thinking skills. Must also be proficient in problem-solving, planning, and time management. Preferred Experience : Previous clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting. Education : Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Certifications : Professional certification in a related nursing specialty, and relevant skills certifications such as ACLS, PALS, or TNCC. Software : Experience with the Epic electronic health record system. Schedule Hours : 36 hours per week, 12-hour night shifts (12N).
