Information Technology Manager
The Department of Technology, Management and Budget (DTMB) supports the business operations of state agencies through a variety of services including Information Technology project delivery, maintenance and support. This position is with the Agency Services area of DTMB supporting the Office of Retirement Services (ORS).

This position is a first-line manager of professional employees within Agency Services supporting the Office of Retirement Services (ORS). This position will lead the Business, Compliance and Quality Assurance functions and manage a team within the ORS Agency Services-Retirement section. This team is tasked with supporting the development and implementation efforts of various applications specific to quality reviews and validations while ensuring the quality of all deliverables for the division. This position will provide the leadership of the Compliance and Quality Assurance teams required to meet DTMB customer service goals and objectives and to meet the business needs of the Office of Retirement Services. The supervisory functions that this position manages include employee evaluation, coaching, selection, distribution of work within the unit, monitoring day-to-day activities, provision of technical and policy guidance and employee skill development. In addition, this position will oversee and be the point of escalation for multiple complex information technology projects for the ORS.
Other responsibilities : Participate in Agile standups and collaborate with end-users to understand their needs, test requirements, and validate user stories. Verify that IT solutions comply with ADA and SOM standards and support the Cybersecurity Team in ensuring alignment with security requirements. Contribute to application development and implementation activities, and assist ORS in meeting quality, security, accessibility, and availability standards across all solutions.
Position Location / Remote Office : The office location is Lansing, MI. The State of Michigan is not able to offer employment to out of-state applicants that do not plan to relocate to Michigan. The Department of Technology Management and Budget currently offers a hybrid work option which requires two days working on-site at the official work location in Michigan and three days of remote work per week.

SIGNING BONUS : This position may be eligible for a sign-on bonus up to $3,500. Up to $1,750 to be paid upon new hire and the remainder to be paid after satisfactory completion of the initial probationary period (12-month period). This does not apply to current state employees.
