This position is responsible for providing back-up support and assisting with leasing duties for the Florida Department of Education (FDOE). This position requires : (1) a thorough knowledge of Florida Statutes, Administrative Rules and FDOE policy relative to the real property lease program, (chapter 255, F.S.), and (2) the ability to assist in managing the department's real property lease program.
Duties & responsibilities include :
- Providing back-up assistance in coordinating, developing, and implementing departmental policies and regulations, state regulations and statutes pertaining to the procurement of FDOE leased space.
- Assisting in identifying statewide space needs and in procuring the needed space by coordinating and preparing documents to receive prior approval for the space, bid specifications, and lease documents.
- Preparing guidelines for bid specifications, bid synopsis, and legal advertisements for bids. Providing technical assistance to all agencies and private sector entities with respect to bid completion, space acquisition, and utilization of space.
- Preparing FDOE lease documents, bid specifications and relevant leasing correspondence, and maintaining the database for controlling real property lease management.
- Assisting with implementation of the review and analysis of leases, proposals, specification floor plans, and related documents pertaining to the acquisition of space for the department.
- Analyzing, evaluating and investigating problems that occur with current lease space and providing problem-solving techniques to resolve issues.
- Assisting the main phone line operators as needed.
- Assisting the lead conference room coordinator in their absence.
- Assisting the badging and access control coordinator in their absence.
