Summary :

The Emergency Department Patient Access Specialist is responsible for accurately identifying patients and conducting detailed registration interviews including capturing demographic, insurance and contact information in a high volume, 24 / 7 Emergency Department. Patient Access Specialist are exposed to varying levels of acuity, disease and sensitive patient and visitor situations impacting populations of all ages and backgrounds.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

• Education : High school diploma or GED preferred.
• License / Certifications : N / A
• Experience : Minimum of six months experience in healthcare.
• Additional Skills / Requirements Required : Computer and data entry experience is required with Microsoft Word, e-mail, and internet communication, as well as the ability to work accurately and effectively with electronic systems.
• Additional Skills / Requirements Preferred : N / A
