About the Role

At H3X, we are building the most advanced electric motors in the world for sustainable aviation, marine, industrial, and defense applications. At 12 kW / kg continuous, the HPDM family of integrated motor drives is a step change in electric propulsion technology and removes one of the main barriers blocking widespread proliferation of electric and hybrid aircraft. We are hiring a motivated Applications Engineer to join the H3X team as a technical resource interfacing between our customers, design engineering, and the production organization. The Applications Engineer is a critical team member understanding customer requirements, providing technical support, and ensuring our integrated motor drives are integrated into customer applications with success. You will help to ensure internal engineering teams are delivering on time, while actively maintaining communication with the customer.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with existing and potential customers to understand technical requirements, and translate into new products and systems solutions

Provide support through the pre- and post-sales process, with technical support, product demonstrations, troubleshooting, and act as the main POC with active customers through delivery

Closely partner with design engineering, manufacturing, and other internal H3X teams to ensure customer needs are evaluated and met during product development and production of our motor products

Support the development lifecycle with technical documentation, user guides, product notes, and integration instructions for customers

Support the test, qualification, validation, and integration of our products in customer environments

Share voice of customer feedback with internal team to help identify opportunities for product improvements, new applications, integrations, and customer market segments

Conduct market research to develop clear understanding of market landscape and identify additional product market fit

Represent H3X at customer sites, trade shows, or events as needed

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field

Minimum 5+ years of experience in applications engineering, field engineering, sales / business development, or technical support in a hardware or manufacturing setting

Strong technical knowledge of mechanical / electrical systems, manufacturing processes, and hardware integration

Ability to work cross functionally with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and other internal teams

Willingness to travel up to 25% to customer sites and trade shows

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in automotive, aircraft or aerospace industry

Experience with SOLIDWORKS or another CAD package

Prior Mechanical Design experience with an interest in Customer Operations

Salary Band : $120,000 - $160,000
