• Position Summary
• The Family or Internal Medicine Physician provides patient care services by independently and interdependently scheduling, supervising, and / or conducting diagnostic and therapeutic procedures;

independently participate in the delivery of direct patient care within the scope of authority granted by the Louisiana State Board of Medicine protocols and standards.

• Minimum Qualifications
• Education
• Must possess a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy degree with a concentration in the respective specialty from an accredited college or university.
• Board eligible or certified in a primary care specialty preferred.
• Current CPR certification
• Experience
• Current Louisiana Medical license and knowledge of scope of practice.
• Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records and MS Office.
• Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Calm, professional attitude in stressful situations and interactions.
• High level of ethics in maintaining patient confidentiality.
• Excellent analytical skills to assess and evaluate patient needs and develop and implement a care plan.
• Physical and Mental Requirements
• Stands, sits, and walks most of the day.
• Reads gauges, digital read outs, graphs and educational material, and patient charts in English (Visual acuity)
• Exerts up to 20 pounds of force frequently including pushing, pulling, and / or reaching for objects.
• Ability to move to exam rooms and workspaces.
• Operates office and medical equipment.
• OSHA Category I : Duties performed routinely require exposure to blood, body fluid and tissue.
• Potential exposure to chemical hazards.
• Ability to adapt well to change. Handles a multitude of tasks simultaneously.
• Maintains professional composure in stressful or emergency situations. Deals with and / or solves stressful situations.
