The Attorney 4 has a key role at the Board. In this position, you will be responsible for :
- Directing and overseeing investigations of professional misconduct cases involving teachers, with a focus on criminal convictions and professional discipline.
- Conducting case audits to ensure all investigation steps are completed, disciplinary actions are initiated promptly, and all actions comply with Ohio laws and regulations.
- Monitoring case management reports to ensure timely case completion and providing updates to senior management.
- Reviewing case-related documents for legal compliance, accuracy, and formatting, and consulting with senior management on potential disciplinary actions.
- Managing settlement of misconduct cases within established guidelines and tracking cases through hearings and appeals.
- Drafting, reviewing, and finalizing legal documents, including automatic revocation orders, consent agreements, and letters of admonishment, in accordance with Ohio law.
- Advising and assisting with law-related inquiries and ensuring timely responses.
- Overseeing compliance with disciplinary actions and assisting with the development and implementation of internal investigation guidelines and procedures.
- Preparing and developing materials for presentations, hearings, and distribution.
- Representing the office at advising board meetings and performing other assigned duties.
- Admission to Ohio Bar pursuant to Section 4705.01 of Revised Code; 12 months experience as licensed attorney; 6 months experience in employee training & development.
