1. Prepare test solutions, compounds, and reagents for laboratory personnel to conduct test.
2. Analyze organic and inorganic compounds.
3. Develop, improve, and customize products, equipment, formulas, processes, and analytical methods.
4. Compile and analyze test information to determine process or equipment operating efficiency and to diagnose malfunctions.
5. Confer with scientists and engineers to conduct analyses of research projects, interpret test results, or develop nonstandard tests.
6. Direct, coordinate, and advise personnel in test procedures for analyzing components and physical properties of materials.
7. To determine chemical and physical properties, composition, structure, relationships, and reactions, utilizing chromatography, spectroscopy, and spectrophotometry techniques..
8. Induce changes in composition of substances by introducing heat, light, energy, and chemical catalysts for quantitative and qualitative analysis.
9. Write technical papers and reports; and prepare standards and specifications for processes, facilities, products, and tests.
10. Study effects of various methods of processing, preserving, and packaging on composition and properties of foods.
11. Plan and synthesize new elements.
12. Find out different ways to optimize the quality of an existing chemical product.
13. Preparing test solutions, chemical compounds and performing various laboratory tests.
14. Carrying out various analysis test and finding out the physical and chemical properties of various chemical compounds.
15. Interact with other professionals like chemical engineers and scientists.
16. Prepare test reports, technical papers and standard specifications for the chemical product.
17. Analyze and study effects of various processes on composition of a chemical substance.
