Overview
VEIR is enabling high‑power, long‑distance power delivery solutions across the electricity value chain. As Technical Lead – Cryogenic Infrastructure, you will design, develop, and integrate liquid nitrogen infrastructure across all product platforms.
Responsibilities
In Your First 3–6 Months
- Gain a comprehensive understanding of VEIR’s cryogenic systems, distribution architecture, and integration across product platforms.
- Apply your technical expertise to guide design decisions, identify system‑level risks, and support problem‑solving during builds.
- Leverage leadership and coaching skills to motivate and align a multidisciplinary team, ensuring clear priorities and strong communication across engineering functions.
- Establish effective interfaces between the cryogenic infrastructure team and adjacent groups.
- Define deliverables, schedules, and key technical milestones for the cryogenic infrastructure roadmap.
- Evaluate team structure, resources, and project load, and propose improvements.
- Lead design and safety reviews for cryogenic subsystems, balancing innovation, reliability, and operational safety.
In Your First Year
Own the overall technical roadmap for cryogenic infrastructure across all VEIR product lines.Lead development and integration of liquid nitrogen distribution systems, storage, and control components.Establish best practices for design documentation, thermal modeling, system testing, and commissioning.Partner closely with program management and other technical leads.Mentor and coach engineers, fostering a culture of learning and accountability.Identify and de‑risk critical technical challenges in design, controls integration, and manufacturability.Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Cryogenic, Chemical, or Systems Engineering (Ph.D. a plus).8+ years of experience developing and integrating cryogenic or thermal management systems.Deep understanding of liquid nitrogen handling, fluid dynamics, heat transfer, and cryogenic safety practices.Experience leading cross‑functional technical teams or large‑scale engineering programs.Familiarity with instrumentation and controls systems for cryogenic processes (PLC, sensors, DAQ) is a strong plus.Proven ability to balance hands‑on technical work with strategic leadership and program oversight.Strong communication and organizational skills, able to translate complex technical challenges into clear action plans.Benefits & Perks
