Responsibilities
Perform non-invasive echocardiography and / or vascular ultrasound studiesFollow established protocols to produce the highest-quality diagnostic imagesObtain accurate patient history prior to each testEnsure appropriate documentation for all exams performedAssess whether order revisions are needed based on ultrasound findingsExplain procedures clearly to patients, families, and care team membersMaintain strong client and team relationships through excellent patient careManage workflow efficiently, including add-ons and emergency examsPrepare patients and coordinate with nursing units for timely transportMaintain clean and stocked work areasReport equipment issues and ensure safe operation of all systemsFollow Quality Control standards and participate in process improvementParticipate in peer review activities as requiredStay current with new protocols, clinical advancements, and CE requirementsAttend department meetings and complete required hospital educationRequired Skills
Strong interpersonal and written / verbal communication skillsAbility to work effectively with hospital leadership, physicians, and technologistsUp-to-date knowledge of cardiac / vascular sonography technologiesWorking knowledge of accreditation, credentialing, and QA proceduresBasic understanding of imaging configuration, DICOM standards, networking, and EMR integrationJob Requirements
Experience :
Minimum 2+ years of ECHO experienceAdvanced transthoracic echocardiography skills requiredExperience performing non-invasive echocardiography (and vascular, if applicable)Licenses & Certifications :
ARDMS Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) orCCI Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS)BLS (American Heart Association)Education :
Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Training ProgramMust maintain continuing education per ARDMS, CCI, ICAVL, and ICAE standardsJob Details
