MAIN FUNCTION : Provide compassionate care and assistance to individual(s) with intellectual and developmental disabilities including assistance with day to day living activities, personal hygiene, and vocational skill building activities. WORK ENVIRONMENT :

Supports are provided in the home and in the community. May have direct contact with individuals who display unpredictable and challenging behaviors.

Requirements Requirements Provides WORK WORK ETHICS

Maintain good attendance record, including punctuality and leave request procedures.

Provides emergency coverage when requested by management.

Caring Attitude; promote good work habits; assist new employees.

Complete all duties and required documentation set forth by NIA policy / procedures / guideline and DIDD compliance.

Maintain clean and neat appearance with appropriate attire for accompanying person supported to various activities.

Model professional conduct and ethical behavior.

Maintains confidentiality of records / information according to HIPAA, State, Federal laws, and guidelines .

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS :

Must be able to move or lift a minimum of 25 pounds. The employee may occasionally lift and / or move up to 50 pounds with assistance from a second person or mechanical device.

Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, crawl, walk, and respond to challenging behaviors with prescribed techniques.

Must be able to work outside of normal work hours including nights, holidays and weekends as needed to meet Agency and position demands.

May involve sitting for brief periods of time.
