QA Lead Process Automation

Position Summary
The QA Lead Process Automation plays a vital leadership role in overseeing the identification, investigation, and escalation of BestRx and automation-related issues impacting pharmacy operations and automated workflows.
Reporting directly to the Director of Operations, Process Automation, this role leads a team of QA Specialists responsible for performing root cause analysis, issue triage, and quality assurance across multiple pharmacy systems. The Lead will ensure all findings are properly documented, tracked, and communicated to relevant teamsincluding Automation, Engineering, Product, IT, and Pharmacy Operationsto drive timely resolutions and long-term process improvements.
The ideal candidate is a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) with experience in prescription workflow analysis, QA leadership, and automation triage within a health technology or pharmacy operations environment.
Key Responsibilities
QA Oversight & Root Cause Identification
- Lead and train a team of QA Specialists in performing manual QA testing, error identification, and root cause analysis within BestRx and other integrated systems.
- Oversee daily QA activities focused on identifying and categorizing issues such as duplicate prescriptions, intake mismatches, or workflow automation errors.
- Ensure findings are validated, clearly documented, and supported by evidence prior to escalation.
- Utilize data analysis and QA reports to identify recurring issues and drive systemic solutions.
Documentation, Reporting & Compliance
Maintain detailed issue logs with standardized documentation, including type, impact, and resolution tracking.Oversee reporting of QA findings to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency.Prepare and deliver weekly reports summarizing high-impact findings, trends, and recommended process improvements.Support documentation standards to ensure compliance with internal QA protocols, HIPAA, and pharmacy regulations.Issue Escalation & Triage
Serve as the primary point of contact for escalating issues to internal and external teams, including Automation Engineers, Product Managers, Pharmacy System Developers, IT Specialists, and BestRx support.Prioritize and triage issues to ensure critical system impacts are addressed promptly.Coordinate cross-functional response efforts and follow up on open tickets until resolution.Communicate blockers, risks, and root causes to leadership with clarity and transparency.Cross-Functional Collaboration & Process Improvement
Collaborate closely with pharmacists, the Intake Manager, and Process Automation Specialist to support ongoing optimization and continuous improvement initiatives.Participate in testing and validation of fixes, automation updates, and workflow enhancements to ensure accuracy and compliance.Support the development and delivery of QA training materials, documentation, and best practice guides to prevent issue recurrence and enhance overall quality standards.Qualifications
Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) required.2+ years of leadership experience preferred, particularly within QA, operations, or automation environments.13 years of experience working with pharmacy systems (BestRx experience highly preferred).Strong understanding of pharmacy intake workflows, automation logic, and data integration between systems.Skilled in root cause analysis, QA documentation, and technical troubleshooting.Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.Ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams in a fast-paced environment.Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy, compliance, and process improvement.Work Environment
Location : Hybrid Columbus - OHSchedule : Full-timeMay require availability during specific hours or days or flexibility for escalations.Regular meetings with teams, departments, or leadership to ensure alignment.Key Essential Functions
