Craftsman Wire Harness Technician (Contingent)

Expertise and Functions

• Provide support to either Program / Project Manager in the areas of project scheduling, data gathering / analyses, database manipulation or population, preparation of technical / project reports or briefings, test plans and reports, and associated documentation, test or validation / verification assistance
• Oversee / perform test or project events as assigned by Program Manager or Engineering supervisor, report status and results
• Follow engineering guidance, technical orders, and drawings
• Perform and oversee moderately complex assembly / test functions utilizing mechanical skills, hand and power tools, test equipment, and inspection measurement equipment in a manufacturing environment
• Perform and inspect wire terminations and wire harness assembly (OJT)
• Produce and inspect assemblies conforming to customer specifications (OJT)
• Assemble, test, and solder as required per customer / industry standards (OJT)
• Perform electrical checkout of manufactured wire harnesses (OJT)
• Document records identifying compliance with assigned tasks regarding wire harness manufacturing (OJT)
• Establish, organize & maintain detailed inventory of government, customer and KIHOMAC property (OJT)
• Lay out / assemble units for production according to designs, specifications, and work instructions (OJT)
• Modify equipment by adding, removing, or altering components as per predetermined processes (OJT)
• Maintain high ethical / professional standards of performance, demeanor, and judgment always
• Observe all safety rules and maintains a foreign object debris (FOD) free work area
• Train and assist other technicians on techniques and procedures
• Attend meetings and conferences to represent section
• Communicate with vendors to acquire quotes for hardware and materials (OJT)
• Perform hardware procurement through purchase requests (OJT)
• Report status and results
• Maintain a clean work area
• Work unsupervised at times
• Other duties as assigned
