Senior Quality Technician
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and disciplined Senior Quality Technician (SQT) to join our team. This critical role ensures the quality of the products we deliver and serves as a key technical resource to the engineering team. The SQT will support root cause investigations, drive corrective actions, and perform product inspections across the facility.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting part verification and the administration of our quality management system. Working at a fast pace with a detail oriented and self-disciplined approach is imperative for success in this role.
This job requires the ability to complete many different tasks with a careful approach that ensures accuracy and quality. A high level of expertise is expected and the ability to follow all procedures to facilitate the production of high-quality parts produced with many different methods is required to be successful in this role.
Reports to : Engineering Manager
Key Responsibilities :
- Perform complex inspections, measurements, and testing on incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products.
- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards to determine inspection criteria.
- Document and report inspection results, nonconformances, and trends in quality performance.
- Lead or support root cause analysis and corrective / preventive action activities.
- Support internal and external audits and assist in maintaining compliance with applicable standards (e.g. ISO 9001 or customer-specific requirements).
- Maintain calibration records and verify accuracy of inspection and test equipment.
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues and improve processes.
- Participate in continuous improvement and process capability projects to enhance quality performance.
Required Skills & Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a technical field preferred.3–5 years of experience in quality inspection or quality control, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.Strong knowledge of quality control methods, inspection tools, and measurement systems (e.g. calipers, micrometers, gauges, CMMs).Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and technical specifications.Solid problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.Effective communication and mentoring skills.Proficiency with MS Office and experience using quality management or ERP systems is a plus.Preferred Qualifications :
ASQ Certified Quality Technician (CQT), Certified Quality Inspector (CQI), or Six Sigma Green Belt.Experience programming in Hexagon PC-DMISExperience completing first article / PPAP documentsAdditional Requirements :
Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods.May require occasional lifting of materials up to 50 lbs.Ability to work in a manufacturing or production environment.Benefits :
